Dining
What makes the Timamoon dining experience so special?
The Balinese style restaurant is built on stilts and sits alongside a large Koi pond surrounded by palms and ferns. The romantic ambience of the candle-lit restaurant and flowing fabrics from the ceiling already hint that something special awaits you.
Before you get to dinner, how about a cheers to your loved one with a cocktail or special G&T at our Star Bar, incite some competition with game of snooker on our enormous snooker table or enjoy a relaxed cigar and glass of bubbly in our cigar lounge before heading in for an indulgent culinary treat.
The four course meal is freshly prepared by our chefs and focuses on giving a dining experience that combines new flavours and textures that are unexpected.
The head chef, Kelly likes to quote Virginia Woolf’s philosophy on food: “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well”. This thought permeates through every dish as you are taken on a culinary journey of different aromas and tastes such as wild strawberries in a cardamon berry sauce or, cinnamon flavoured slow roasted springbok or a creamy Tahini ice cream. Many of the ingredients are organically grown on the Timamoon estate and there is a conscience effort in keeping the integrity of the produce intact.
The breakfasts are served around the koi pond and include home baked pastries, freshly cut seasonal fruits with yoghurt, honey and our homemade muesli followed by a choice of hot breakfast dishes.
